Apple’s latest app asks you to provide Siri feedback so that the voice-activated assistant can improve.
The new app, Siri Speech Study, was first uncovered by TechCrunch and was released earlier this month. It requests that you share your Siri voice requests with Apple as well as submit any feedback you may have regarding your Siri experience.
iOS users in the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, and Taiwan can use the app, therefore the Siri study looks to be international.
However, there is one catch: you must be accepted to participate in the study. It is unclear how one might be invited to participate in the study.
Siri will also receive substantial improvements with the iOS 15 update, which will be released this fall. Siri Knowledge in Photos is one of them, and it allows Siri to know what’s in a photo. If you show Siri a photo of a flower, for example, Siri will be able to tell you what type of flower it is.
In April, Apple’s voice assistant received new features in the form of new Siri voices, which were included in the iOS 14.5 system update. More crucially, Siri no longer uses a male or female voice as its default.
Instead, when new users set up their device, they will be asked to select a voice, which will be labeled as Voice 1 or Voice 2, rather than male or female.
