Snapchat will notify you when a friend’s birthday is approaching. All you have to do is open your friend’s birthday list and look for the special emoji next to their name.
Until recently, this was how Snapchat handled birthdays, but now the app has a whole mini dedicated to birthdays that you can visit at any time of the year.
What is the Snapchat Birthdays Mini?
Snap has unveiled a brand-new Mini designed specifically for birthdays. Minis are internal apps within the Snapchat app, in case you’re new to Snapchat or don’t use it very often.
You can access the Birthdays Mini (and other minis) by clicking the rocket icon on the chat page.
If you can’t use this feature for some reason, you can find the Birthdays Mini by typing “birthdays” into the Snapchat Search Bar.
It is as a friendly reminder, you only have to search it once for the icon to display in your recent searches, then you can find it easier the next time.
How to use the Birthdays Mini?
There are two pages in Birthdays Mini. Birthdays Mini is split into 3 primary tools on the main page.
First, two handy buttons indicate whether any of your friends have upcoming birthdays or have recently celebrated a birthday.
Below that, you can see all of your friends’ birthdays, as well as whether or not their birthday is approaching.
Finally, a big countdown clock displays the number of days till your birthday.
To see the second page of the Birthdays Mini, pick Zodiac Signs at the top of the page. This page lists your friends’ birthdays according to which Greek Zodiac sign they were born under.
The dates linked with each sign are listed along the right side of the page, and the birthdays of your pals are listed beneath their names.
When it’s time to enjoy a birthday, you and your friends can use a special birthday lens and stickers to celebrate the event.
What the Birthdays Mini Isn’t Equipped?
In terms of organizing the information displayed, the Birthdays Mini is quite useful. However, it does not provide complete information to you.
It can inform you of the dates of your friends’ birthdays, but it can’t tell you their age or the year they were born.
Furthermore, Snapchat users are only displayed in the Birthdays Mini if their birthday is public. If your goal is to make your Snapchat account more secret, this may not be the best option.
