Uber has revealed some upcoming features aimed at both frequent flyers and casual airline passengers.
A recent announcement emphasizes some features aimed at making the phase of your trip that follows the touchdown go a little more smoothly. It’s not just about having a car ready for you when you get off the airline. You’ll also be able to order meals ahead of time using Mobile Ordering For Pickup and have a meal waiting for you after you’ve left your arrival gate via Uber Eats.
Ready When You Are is a new feature that allows you to request a ride when your airline lands but specify a time for pickup. To give yourself more time to go from your gate to the exit, you can select “as soon as possible,” 10 minutes, or up to 20 minutes.
Starting on Wednesday, this feature will be available on Android, and it will be available on iOS in November.
Uber Reserve is being expanded to cover airport trips, allowing you to reserve a car up to 30 days in advance.
Uber adds Flight tracking, which will adjust your reservation time automatically if your flight arrives early or late. Furthermore, if you are delayed on your way out for whatever reason, drivers will wait for you for up to an hour at no additional cost.
Both Uber Reserve and Ready When You Are are currently accessible in a few major airports across the United States, as well as a few other countries—but not everywhere. If you wish to double-check your airport, go to Uber’s announcement for further information.
Mobile Ordering For Pickup is now being tested at Pearson Airport in Toronto and it should be available in the United States within the next several months.
