The Pixel 5a with 5G is now available, and Google’s new ad highlights the necessity of the headphone jack.
The latest Google Pixel 5a ad was launched on Friday, Google chose to highlight the headphone jack—or “the circle,” as the ad refers to it instead of emphasizing the larger screen or enhanced technology.
The two-minute ad spends a lot of time building up a story about how significant and wonderful the circle is. It then goes on to explain how the Pixel 5a with 5G’s headphone jack is expertly built to produce a pleasing click, even showing a space station docking to highlight its importance.
It’s an intriguing ad that appears to be a dig at Apple and other smartphone makers who have abandoned the headphone jack in recent years.
Of course, the ad is a jab at Google, even as Pixel 5a with 5G is the only phone in the company’s 2021 collection to feature the all-important circle.
The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro don’t have a headphone jack, which could explain why Google is promoting it in the Pixel 5A’s ads.
Whatever the case may be, Google wants you to know that the headphone jack is still necessary. If you enjoy the delightful click of your headphones being plugged into your phone, the Pixel 5a with 5G can give.
