The Surface Go 3 has been unveiled by Microsoft, coupled with a new mouse made partly from recycled ocean plastics.
The Surface Go 3 is Microsoft’s latest Go tablet, and while details are scarce at the moment, the Surface Go 3 has been officially announced. That, and the company’s new Ocean Plastic Mouse, which is made out of 20% recycled plastic from the ocean.
The Surface Go 3 is powered by a 10th generation Intel processor, according to Microsoft, making it 60 percent faster than previous models. At the very least, it’s a significant upgrade over the Surface Go 2’s 8th generation processor.
There appear to have been no changes to the display, since the Go 3 keeps the 10.5-inch measurements of the Go 2. It, too, uses Dolby Audio, as does the Go 2.
In terms of performance, the new Microsoft Ocean Plastic Mouse is a bit of a puzzle. The mouse is constructed of recycled ocean plastics, and the packaging is supposed to be 100 percent recyclable, however, there is no information on the mouse’s performance.
It’s probably on pace with any other Microsoft mouse—nothing revolutionary, but totally enough. Though it appears to be better for the environment, you can send the mouse back to Microsoft to be recycled when you’re done with it.
The Surface Go 3 and the Ocean Plastic Mouse will both be available on October 5, but no pricing information has been revealed yet.
Because of the CPU improvements, the Go 3 will most likely cost a little more than the $399 Go 2, but we won’t know for sure until additional information is released.
